 President’s Pitch

Happy May Day!

League season is finally here! Time to get your horseshoes cleaned and painted, or not!

Good luck to all the pitchers participating in the 2026 CHPA State Walking Doubles. There will be twenty-two teams participating this year with two returning teams defending their titles. Ken and Amy – Championship Class, and Christina and Vicki – Class A. This is an official state tournament, NHPA rules will be followed. Lunch provided by the CHPA.

CHPA Fundraising:

The Extravaganza board will be making rounds this summer. A 50/50 raffle to help fund all state sponsored events. Drawing will be at the State Singles Tournament in August.

Starting at the Doubles tournament we will be raffling off an All-in-One Computer. The same style that we raffled off at the 2025 State tournament. The computers were originally purchased by the CHPA to set up as monitors at Knaub arena but with the change of tournament software we no longer need them. Raffle tickets are $10 each and we must have ten tickets sold for the raffle. The computers are also up for sale, $100 each. Supplies are limited. So, if you are interested email or text me. Each has Windows 11 and the HSMaster program loaded on them. Monies raised will help purchase additional equipment for scorekeeping.

Eshoes

Many of you have now pitched in a tournament that used the new Eshoe program. This is working well but with any new software we are still dealing with some glitches. So, thank you for your patience during this learning process.

Advantages of using the new program are.

  • Ease of setting up tournaments for the Directors.

  • No longer need paper scorekeeping.

  • No longer need to prove scorekeeping.

  • Results on individual games are posted immediately, once approved by players.

  • Games can be monitored from the Eshoe webpage. For those unable to attend the tournament.

  • Results can be posted to Eshoes at the end of the tournament.
