Message from the CHPA President

May 2, 2020

CHPA Members:

We hope all of you are well and in a safe place during this trying time. It has been a crazy couple of months. Who could have known a virus would shut down the entire world and our lives would be disrupted with limitations that affect our daily routines, as well as our favorite sport of Horseshoes.

Many of our tournaments have been canceled to meet community safety guidelines and regulations. During the month of May some of those restrictions will begin to lift and we, the CHPA and directors, will be keeping in touch with our local city officials on when we can begin pitching shoes. Leagues that were to begin in May have been pushed back to June. We will be meeting again on June 6, 2020 to review where we stand on pitching.

The State Doubles Tournament has been pushed back to August 15th this will replace the Steve Ruddock Tournament.

The State Singles Tournament will still take place the following weekend. One change has been made regarding the events qualification from 3 to 2. Example: 1 tournament and 1 league.

We are hoping to be able to pitch this summer. So please keep in mind that this is new for all of us and there may be adjustments on how we run the leagues.

Our first concern is the safety of our pitchers and family. We are committed to keeping it fun and fair for all to pitch. Please keep checking the CHPA website for updates.

Thank you for your patience and understanding
